Dirk Vandecruys maakte kleine, organische tekeningen vol kleur en symboliek. Elk beeld legde de geest en gedachten van Vandecruys vast op het moment dat hij ze maakte. Ondanks hun herkenbare beeldtaal zijn het unieke stukken met verschillende betekenissen en variaties in vorm en kleur. Ze combineren religieuze verwijzingen en esoterische wijsheid. In het verleden kregen zijn werken soms titels als ‘The interconnection of things’, ‘Love is blue’, ‘Man, woman, birth, infinity’ of ‘Verboden vrucht’. Samen vormen zijn tekeningen een visueel dagboek dat op basis van de data kan worden ontcijferd. Toch zullen zijn tekeningen nooit al hun geheimen prijsgeven.

Dirk Vandecruys made small, organic drawings full of colour and symbolism. Each image captured Vandecruys' mind and thoughts at the moment he made them. Despite their recognizable imagery, they are unique pieces with different meanings and variations in shape and colour. They combine religious references and esoteric wisdom. In the past, his works were sometimes given titles such as “The interconnection of things”, “Love is blue”, “Man, woman, birth, infinity” or “Forbidden fruit”.

Together his drawings create a visual diary that can be deciphered based on the dates. Nonetheless, his artwork will never reveal all of its secrets.
